Cocoa et Curcumin

Turmeric Hot Chocolate

While it's wonderful to have a cup of creamy, rich, delicious hot chocolate on a cold winter day, we have something even better, and as our holiday gift to you guys, we are going to share our top-secret recipe for Cocoa et Curcumin (no, seriously, it's under a trap door guarded by a three-headed dog)

What is this elixir, you ask? Well, it's The Chai Bar - Herbal Immuni'tea Booster - Malhar Kadha combined with some delicious cocoa. Yes, it can be made using plant-based milk too, (in fact, that's all Sargam uses anyway)

I know, you think you have pretty sophisticated taste buds, but... Turmeric?? Hot Chocolate ??? Wait, don't write us off just yet; here is a cup of healthy hot chocolate, loaded with the goodness of superfoods like turmeric, ginger, pepper, and more, just enough to give your immunity a hand while tasting delicious and creamy blended with dark cacao. Guys, it is comforting and so good for you. Chai it, you'll love it.

The use of Cocoa is as ancient as it gets. It was first used by the Maya civilization. It was introduced to Europe in the 16th century and quickly became popular as a health-promoting medicine.

It is rich in antioxidants via Polyphenols, has the ability to lower blood pressure, Cocoa is rich in Flavanol and improves the level of nitric oxide in the blood, relaxing arteries and improving blood flow, so it is good for the brain and the heart. Cocoa has positive effects on mood. This may be due to Cocoa's flavanols, the conversion of tryptophan to the natural mood stabilizer serotonin, its caffeine content or the sensory pleasure of eating chocolate.

A concoction of steeped herbs and spices, Kadha/ Karha is an age-old Ayurvedic home remedy. Our herbal kadha has a mix of several Ayurvedic herbs and spices.

These pacify the Vata and Kapha, stimulate digestion, increase immunity, and also detox our body. Malhar Kadha, amongst other herbs and spices, has a large amount of Turmeric, aka Curcuma longa. It is an ancient spice related to ginger. Often known as the goldenspice because of its vibrant orange-yellow hues, it has been used as a medicinal herb for thousands of years.

Tur-mer-ic / Too-meric, however you say it, this root is a spice in disguise.

We can't possibly list all the amazing benefits of turmeric because there are just so many, but to name a few, it has mood uplifting curcumin with the ability to ease depression, fight off a variety of viruses, including the flu, helps relieve the severity of high cholesterol, diabetes, stress and we've heard it's good for joints too! (No, not those kinds of joints!)

Our 100% Natural TURMERIC TEA can be consumed for additional relief from the early signs of sickness like a runny nose, cough, cold, headache, itchy throat, body aches, mild digestive ailments, and weakness.

So boiling down to it (see what we did there), Malhar has plenty of health benefits, so does Cocoa; adding turmeric to hot chocolate gives it a savory undertone. If you need an excuse to drink more hot chocolate, this tea can perk up your mood, fight off seasonal sniffles, and keep you chipper all winter long.

While it's rare to drink too much turmeric tea, a super high dose of turmeric might cause side effects. Certain medications don't pair well with turmeric, so always touch base with your doctor before adding additional supplements or herbs to your diet.
