'Immuni'tea Booster

Hello 'Tea'm!!

People have been on the lookout for natural immunity boosters since news of the spread of the novel coronavirus from 'Chai'na to other countries (let’s be honest I added this sentence because I am on a tea pun funder bunder and just wanted to say 'chai'na )

Back to the immunity part #nerdalert

Kadha/ Karha is an age old Ayurvedic home remedy.

Charak Samhita the ancient text of Ayurveda describes ways to consume medicinal herbs. One of those ways is “Hima” an herb induced concoction, prepared and consumed like tea using ingredients that can't be juiced like dry spices and herbs so the best way to extract their benefits and medicinal qualities is to make a decoction along with other natural immunity boosters like ginger and tulsi.

Once boiled, you can store the kadha, reheat it and sip on it all day long!

Our herbal kadha has a mix of several Ayurvedic herbs. These pacify the Vata and Kapha stimulate digestion, increase immunity and also detox our body.

Our two blends are (coming soon in our shop at www.thechaibar.us) -

 TulsiTea

 TurmericTea

Our herbal tea blends have the perfect ingredients to boost your immunity!

*Ginger - Always rooting for you

It has anti-viral properties and is effective against seasonal or allergic cough and cold it also aids digestion, which directly impacts our immunity, as our first line of defence is in the gut.

*Turmeric - The spice in disguise (it’s actually a root like ginger)

We can’t possibly list all the amazing benefits of turmeric because there are just so many but to name a few it has mood uplifting curcumin with the ability to ease depression, fight off a variety of viruses, including herpes and the flu, helps relieve the severity of high cholesterol, diabetes, stress and we’ve heard it’s good for joints too ! (No not those kinds of joints!)

*Ho ho holi basil - The herb of the gods

It has been used in ayurveda for centuries to cure stress, metabolism, pain reliever, fever reducer, insect bites, stomach ulcers to name a few when consumed in a tea it helps in reducing mucus in the body. It also increases your immunity to fight against infections.

*Put a pep(per) in your step - Black pepper

Not your basic table spice it’s helpful in easing congestion and inflammation during the flu and different allergic problems. It is anti-microbial in nature, and therefore helps to curing cold and cough too!

* Cinnamon - or cinnawomon if that’s more your thing!

Helps in digestion, fighting off colds, good for oral health, improves memory, relieves pain and more! Beginning to sound a lot like the Wonder Woman of the spice league!

*When life gives you lemongrass it’s a good good day!

This herb is especially close to our hearts, Lemongrass has been used for centuries in Asia, in India it is also called fever grass because of its inherent properties as a fever reducer. Growing up in India, I have fond childhood memories of my mother’s lemongrass plants sown around our property. Our yard always had a lovely fresh lemony fragrance and #bonus the citronella would keep the mosquitoes at bay, stray cats and dogs would often eat our lemongrass to aid digestion and stomach ailments and if ever my brother or I were to get sick we would have a fresh supply of fresh lemongrass kadha served to us. I’m trying to bring some of that warm home remedy to you’ll in our Kadha!

If you love lemongrass, you can grow it yourself! It is super easy to grow and plant!  Here’s a link to a YouTube video by Plant and Planter that taught me how to propagate lemongrass y’all can totally give it a go!
