Tas'tea Pairings Part I

Chai it, you'll love it.

Yup, that's right! Just like wine, tea can enhance the taste of noms. Pairing food with chai is gaining populari'tea. Today we are going to talk about the best food pairings for some of our tea blends.
Our classic masala chai is an aromatic blend of spices and tea leaves picked from a woman owned tea farm in Assam. This chai is inspired by the 'unity in diversity' in India, a blend of several regional cultures and traditions of Bharat (the original name for India).
No matter where you go in India, masala chai tastes about the same. It incorporates spices from different corners of the country, amalgamating into one united chai you can enjoy year-round.
Aroma: Highly aromatic spiced tea with the complex spicy scent of cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cardamom, and nutmeg.
Taste: Head Notes: Spices;
Body Notes: Warm spicy undertones with a malty flavor in a body of fresh black tea;
Tail Notes: Gingery heat with bottom notes of rich and creamy milk.
Color: Burnt toffee or Tan.
I hope you get a taste of warm Indian hospitality with this chai.
Bun-Maska is a soft bread (also known as bun/bunpav) served with whipped butter (also known as maska or makhan). It is one of THE BEST chai- food parings. (like seriously I am drooling while typing this). This soft inside crisp on the top, golden, buttery bun and steaming hot, sweet & spicy masala chai belong together.
I'll add a link to a fab recipe by Teena Agnel from  'Art of Palate’  below, do give it a go, make your very own bun-maska at home from scratch and enjoy it with our delicious Sanyukta Bharatam Chai.

*Astrakadir (Rose & Cardamom) + Rose Baklava Cheesecake

Astrakadir means 'Pink and Eye Pleasing' in Sanskrit. A loose leaf combination of Pretty Pink Florals, CTC, and Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe this blend is floral, creamy, and nutty. With a dash of cinnamon and sprinkle of star anise, it is the perfect balance of cardamom and rose.

Aroma: Sweet & Spicy
Taste: Head Notes: Light Floral and Spice;
Body Notes: Creamy & nutty;
Tail Notes: Medium hints of spice.
Color: Ranging from Beige to Tan

I hope you enjoy this chai as much as we do!

We've found that Astrakadir chai tastes wonderful with Rose Baklava Cheesecake. Baklava is a middle eastern dessert made with filo pastry and nuts. Cheesecake is well, cheesecake. If you have never tried a cheesecake, RUN to the best bakery near you and try it RIGHT NOW. Yes even if it's 8.A.M. (I'm totally singing Cheesecake by Louis Armstrong atm.)

"Cheesecake. Munchin' on a cheesecake, munchin' on a cheesecake CHEESECAKE! Cheesecake. Gobble, gobble. Cheesecake. Gobble, gobble. CHEESECAKE!"

Link below so you can sing along too.

Now that we are sufficiently excited about cheesecake and chai, here is a link to a delightful recipe by Henna from 'Chai and Churros.’  This weekend, wake, bake and enjoy "la vie en rose"

Life is what you bake it so say a little prayer, do a little dance, shake what ya mama gave ya, thank mother nature for all these lovely people and ingredients.

Do share the love, don't share the COVID-19 virus.

Chai Bye !
